The United Methodist Credit Union has a wide variety of deposit accounts to help you grow your savings. Your deposits and accounts are safe with us as they are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Take a look at our savings options below that will best suit your needs.
A TUMCU Savings Account is the initial account that is opened when you join us as a member-owner of our credit union. It’s an excellent place to save for both the short and long term. A minimum deposit of $5 is required to open the account, but because we like to be nice to our members, we will deposit the first $5 into your account for you! You will need to be eligible for membership with us, and you can find out if you qualify for membership by visiting our Membership Eligibility page.
Our Secure Checking accounts provide a wide variety of deals, discounts, and plans to take advantage of. They offer cell phone protection, identity theft protection, discounts on medical expenses, access to local restaurant and store coupons through E-Club and much more. When you use your debit and credit cards, you will also accrue points which you can spend on yourself at the uChooseRewards store, or you can put them to good use by donating them to Methodist organizations such as UMCOR, UMFS, Heart Havens, or you can even donate them to your local United Methodist Church!
TUMCU Money Market accounts offer higher yields and flexibility. Unlike certificates of deposit, the funds in money market accounts are not tied up for a specific term, making this account a great choice for short-term savings goals.
Certificates of Deposit offer safety of principal and higher earnings than what is traditionally paid on share savings, offering an effective means for growing your savings. You can open a Share Certificate for as little as $1,000 and choose from terms ranging from six to sixty months.
An Individual Retirement Account (IRA) can be an effective financial tool to save for retirement. We offer Traditional and Roth IRAs with a minimum opening balance of $1,000. The terms range from one year to five years.
