Skip-A-Pay

What is Skip-A-Pay?
Skip-A-Pay allows you to skip a monthly payment on any loan (except mortgages and home equity loans) that you have with The United Methodist Credit Union. The skipped payment would be added to the end of your originally agreed loan term. Skipping a payment will not impact your credit rating.

Am I eligible for Skip-A-Pay?
To be eligible to skip a payment, the loan must be current (paid to date), and you must be a member-in-good-standing (an active member for at least 1 year and have no current delinquencies).

Is there a fee?
Yes – there is a $25 fee for each loan payment skipped.

How does Skip-A-Pay affect my original loan?
The skipped month(s) will be added to the end of your loan, which will extend the loan term. Interest still accrues during the skipped month(s).

How does Skip-A-Pay affect my automatic payment?
If your loan is paid by an automatic payment, call us at (866) 657-0004 so we can adjust it. If you set up the payment at another financial institution, you will have to call them to arrange a stop payment for the month you wish to skip.

How often can I skip a payment?
As long as you are eligible (loan is current and are a member-in-good-standing), you can request to skip a payment up to two times in a 12 month period. However, you cannot skip two payments in consecutive months.
