The Billy D. Shaw Youth Mission Fund
The Billy D. Shaw Youth Mission Fund is a grant program designed to support churches in sending their youth on transformative mission trips.
Rooted in the credit union’s commitment to faith, community, and service, the Youth Mission Fund can provide financial assistance to churches planning mission trips or projects for their students. Whether it’s rebuilding homes, serving in food ministries, or sharing the Gospel, these experiences often shape young people’s faith and character in lasting ways – and TUMCU is stepping in to help make them possible.

Honoring Billy D. Shaw
Billy D. Shaw was an active and enthusiastic TUMCU board member, and he represented the West Virginia Annual Conference well. He passed away unexpectedly in late 2024. TUMCU appreciated his guidance, wisdom, and his bias for action. He was a devout Methodist and wanted to serve others and the church. Bill was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church and regularly attended the Eldora and Boothsville United Methodist Churches.
How it Works
Eligibility: Grants are available to churches that are Members of The United Methodist Credit Union.
Application Process: Applications can be submitted at any time. The application form can be accessed using the button below.
Grant Amounts: Awards of up to $500 can be made based on need, scope, and available funding (priority will be given to groups emphasizing service and discipleship)
